Milan Fashion Week: Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2008 Menswear Runway Review

June 28, 2007

The S/S 08 collection from Alexander McQueen was an exercise in humorous variety.

The designer had obvious fun with print and proportion. From the beginning, when polka dot prints marched out, the humorous tone of the collection was set.

The fun continued throughout the show as oversized jackets paired with skinny pants. Jumbo sweaters sometimes seemed like knit dresses.

A retro 60’s vibe came through in the styling and clash of colors.

All of the humour came to a head at the end of the show as models in literal ‘wet suits’ walked out.
