Bagir Aims To Help the Planet and Your Wallet

Israeli suitmaker Bagir is bringing an economical, ecological line of suits to the market.
The line called Ecogir, will be made of post-consumer waste products and will be mostly 100% polyester garments.
Yes. I know. Polyester.
But it’s good to see the “green” trend continuing and entering at a mass market price. The price of organic and renewable fabrics has traditionally come at a price.
“The line, which is expected to include nested suits, separates, sport coats and slacks, could hit the market by spring 2008, with a full roll-out the following fall. Bagir is shopping the line to big retailers this month, including J.C. Penney, Wal-Mart and Sears.”
The materials are also machine washable, taking the burden of harsh dry cleaning chemicals away from the environment.
As the popularity of organics continues to grow, it’s good to see their availability at all price points.
