DNR has released their annual list of the Top 100 players in the menswear fashion industry.

Ralph Lauren sits atop the pile, rightfully so as he continues to power the reins of the 40 year old company he founded originally selling ties.

“Unless you’ve spent the last few months in media-free isolation, you have undoubtedly noticed that the chairman and chief executive officer of Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. is celebrating his company’s 40th anniversary, being flooded with tributes and landing on covers of magazines from Men’s Vogue to Fortune. His recent collections were hits, and Lauren took home not only the CFDA’s Menswear Designer of the Year Award, but also its first-ever American Fashion Legend Award. “

Other notables on the list include:

Giorgio Armani, François-Henri Pinault and Robert Polet, Bernard Arnault, Tom Ford, Marc Ecko, John Varvatos, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter.

Eric Wilson, style reporter guest blogging for The New York Times had a less than stellar review of Roberto Cavalli’s collection for Swedish fast fashion retailer H&M.

“Yes, like Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld before him, Mr. Cavalli has boiled down his signature looks for the masses into what you could call the Cavalli DNA. Unfortunately, that would be leopard prints for women and pimp wear for men. Seriously, do you want to own slinky black-on-black leopard print (though still sheer) boxer briefs, even if they’re designed by Roberto Cavalli?”

Oh. Snap.
