The collaboration gravy train rolls on.
Dutch design duo Viktor & Rolf will be designing a line of luggage for Samsonite Black Label.
The IHT reports that, “Rolf Snoeren and Viktor Horsting has been tapped by the iconic travel brand to create a Black Label collection for 2009 - following the example of Alexander McQueen, whose skeletal sculptures created the coolest of wheely bags for the company.”
The designers confirmed that the line will include both men’s and women’s designs. Also, expect the cult design duo to infuse the collection with their signature quirkiness.
“We are working on the idea of ‘happy travel’ - trying to do something more naïve and personal,” Snoeren tells the IHT. “A lot of luggage is very technical and impersonal - it’s a challenge.”

Manolo Blahnik will be entering the realm of men’s shoes after a seven year hiatus.
The shoe legend will be designing a small six-shoe collection due in stores February 2008.
“It’s not a big collection,” the designer tells Vogue UK. “There are some simple sandals in beautiful materials, and a few classics - with a twist. I thought it was time to bring back some colour into the male wardrobe.”
The designs certainly seem for the bold at heart. The collection includes a red suede Oxford brogue, leopard print sandals and what appears to be a blue, open-toe, lace-up, sandal.
