GIVENCHY ENTRUSTS TISCI WITH MENSWEAR DUTIES

Givenchy has entrusted artistic director Riccardo Tisci with men’s ready-to-wear and accessories duties. The marks the first big-name designer for the brand’s menswear since the departure of Ozwald Boateng. Menswear has been in the hands of an unnamed design team in the interim.

DNR reports that, Tisci’s first men’s wear collection will be presented for the spring 2009 season….The moves a clear affirmation of the work he has done with women’s rtw, haute couture and accessories, and helps ensure a measure of continuity at the storied French maison, which had previously struggled to find its creative footing since the 1995 retirement of founder Hubert de Givenchy.”
