WHAT’LL THEY KNOCKOFF NEXT…MOBILE PHONE EDITION!
April 29, 2008

You just can’t keep knockoffs off the streets!
China is thorough with their knockoff game!
Just when you think you have them, something else gets knocked-off.
This time the high-end line of mobile phones by Vertu has been bootlegged. The result is the Veptu, natch. The Veptu phones closely resemble Vertu’s with some models including 24k gold-plated cases, leather backs and embedded diamonds (probably cubic zirconia though). The phones are actual mobile phones coming with 176 x 220 TFT displays, 1.3 or 2.0 mega-pixel cameras, MP3 capability and GSM setups.
Available for between $219 and $650 compared with thousands for a real Vertu.
We wonder if these’ll be available in Chinatown?
