Project Runway is set to sign on with a new producer, Bunim-Murray.

Bunim-Murray are the folks behind MTV’s “Real World” series. Talks have been going on for weeks to take over the show for Runway’s sixth season and first on the Lifetime network.

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton has won a huge victory against internet heavyweight Ebay.

The luxury goods company fought Ebay over the sale of official and counterfeit goods through Ebay.

“A French court ordered eBay to pay the luxury goods giant around 40 million euros, or $63.2 million at current exchange, for selling counterfeit items on its online auction site, and for selling genuine products outside their desired retail channel….Louis Vuitton received the lion’s share and was awarded 19.3 million euros, or $30.5 million; Christian Dior Couture received 17.4 million euros, or $27.5 million, and Parfums Christian Dior, Parfums Kenzo, Guerlain and Parfums Givenchy, were awarded around 3 million euros, or $4.7 million.”

20 Year old fashion model Ruslana Korshunova fell from the ninth floor of a Manhattan apartment building this past weekend.

The death is being ruled a suicide and comes as a shock to the models friends and family. Korshunova fell from her apartment in the financial district on Saturday June 28.

Although the market for couture is limited and exclusive to a small set of wealthy women the haute couture market is apparently thriving, despite current economic conditions.

WWD reports that, “couture continues to flourish despite widespread economic turmoil. What’s more, it’s expanding international customer base — flush with wealth, and increasingly from destinations to the east — is demanding more exclusivity and service than ever.”

UK based designer Jamie Martin has come up with this Cobra Venom V8 which is a descendant to the famed AC Cobra of the 1960’s. This lightweight car is powerpacked with 524 horsepower and hits 214 mph with a 6 speed manual transmission. Features of the car include extruded aluminum chassis and carbon fiber body panel. Safety is ensured with a F-1 style alloy “protective cocoon” and alohas front and back airbags.

In a completely unconfirmed (though we hope completely true) report, an insider tells Fashionista “that Dior Homme is trying to get Hedi Slimane back into place….Kris Van Assche is feeling the same corporate bullshit that Hedi felt and has had it with the whole thing….Meanwhile, Dior itself is realizing that perhaps the reason Dior Homme was so lucrative under Hedi was because he was awesome, not because they tried hard to micromanage him.”

While it would be interesting to have Slimane back at Dior Homme, we’d prefer him to have his own eponymous label.

Music superstars Kanye West and Pharrell both attended the Louis Vuitton menswear show in Paris. We’d ask who dressed better but it looks like Kanye didn’t give a fuck so why bother. Pharrell is the clear winner with that ivory cable knit cardigan layered over a tee.

Recently students at the Antwerp Academy showcased their looks at a graduation show. The fourth year students presented their work to a fashionable jury including Dior Homme designer Kris Van Assche, fashion reporter Tim Blanks and Dazed and Confused founder Jefferson Hack (who has a great write up here).

Students showcasing their designs included Glen Martens featuring whimsical white dresses, Yu Fukumoto featuring an avant garde take on sartorial tradition and Yuima Nakazato featuring a unique take on footwear.

Antwerp Academy has a long history of churning out great designers including Kris Van Assche and the legendary Antwerp Six.

“MAC Cosmetics has collaborated with designer Esteban Cortazar of Emanuel Ungaro to launch a limited edition makeup collection, called MAC Emanuel Ungaro, which was inspired by the fashion house’s fall runway looks.

The line, due out this fall, is meant to take Ungaro’s heritage in ultrafeminine and colorful clothing and apply it to makeup. Ungaro marks the second designer collaboration for MAC, which is owned by the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. Its first was a collection for Alexander McQueen that was launched last fall.”
