After teaming up with a new licencee last year, designer Michael Kors is hoping his new swimwear line will do well.

“Swim is such an integral part of my design philosophy,” the designer says. “It’s not about swimwear per se; it’s part of my customer’s lifestyle.”

“With the first collection, resort, shipping in October, the high-end Michael Kors Collection will wholesale from $90 to $140 and be available at the likes of Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, while the better-priced Michael Michael Kors line will be distributed more widely via names such as Macy’s and Lord & Taylor.

So what can Kors devotees look forward to?”

“The more covered suits are the best of both worlds,” he explains in today’s WWD. “On a younger woman, they are unexpected and special. For a more adult woman, she’s like, ‘Hallelujah’.”
